KOH: I didn't really see any errors that stood out really bad in your video. Now about your prematch buildup, honestly it was a really good idea to do it the way you did. It was simple, quick, got the point across, and blended smoothly with your video. So good job with that. The video itself was good. Some of the moments felt just a little too slow, but honestly there aren't really any mistakes here. The only things wrong are more of a personal preference thing. Oh and about your song you used, I'm torn. On the one hand it's not bad and I like it, on the other hand it feels like it doesn't fit. So let's say that your song half fit, which is still pretty good. Overall you did pretty good and made a nice video that has very little to no mistakes in it, so good job.
TheGEFreakProductions: It was smart of you to use an instrumental type song since you decided to go with a lot of commentary during the match. The prematch buildup was good, but I personally believe that the quotes you chose for them felt a bit conflicting. That's not completely your fault since I understand you were very limited for phrases from them for the match. The commentary was nice but there was a few times where it just cut completely short which is very irritating and cringe worthy to hear. I didn't love that echo effect at the end. Also the crop you did still showed a big box in the top left at one point. Your logo in my opinion was a little too distracting. It looked fine, and I can let that rumbling letters thing go in the beginning. But it's the fact that it keeps doing it that is distracting and annoying. However considering this match wasn't an amazing 5 star match, I give you credit for making it feel like it was more exciting than it was. It was a good attempt overall. Also I think you ended the match too early. At the end of the song when it gets really fast and really intense around when they're shaking hands that moment in the song would have perfectly captured all of the emotion you were trying to show in the story and make AJ's rollup mean that much more if the music had stopped right as the referee hit three. I agree with having the handshake and stuff after the match but the way the song works I think you missed a big opportunity for a great ending full of emotion. You could have figured something out to get that handshake in there while still ending the song there. I just feel the ending had more potential than what you showed.
Winner: I just want you both to know that neither of you have anything to be ashamed of. You both produced great videos and I saw a lot of improvement from you both throughout the tournament. There were some real standouts in this tournament and I saw most of you improve with each video after you saw my reviews. Which tells me you paid attention to my critiques and actually tried to learn and improve which is a great quality to see in an editor. This last video was by far the hardest video I've had to judge. On the one hand I have an editor who took an epic match and made it feel really good and had no real mistakes to speak of. On the other hand I have an editor who took a really good match and made it feel like an epic encounter, but full of mistakes. In the end I decided to go with the video that I feel was most memorable. I want you both to know that I watched both of these videos around 10 times to come to my final decision. I also changed my opinion on who should win more than once. This was as close for me as you would probably be able to ever get. So the person who I chose to win this match and be crowned the very first highlights champion is, TheGeFreakProductions. Congratulations to both of you on a great match. But GE, I would very highly recommend you learn from these mistakes I've pointed out here today because if you don't then you could very well lose that title very quickly to someone like KOH who did an amazing job in this tournament. In fact he was the person who I had pegged to win the entire tournament from the very beginning. So keep improving or you could end up losing it to someone like him in the future.
